General breed information
The Andalusian horse, also called PRE (Pura Raza Española), is a very old breed that originated in Spain. It is a baroque breed.
They have a short back, a short, strong neck and rounded hindquarters. Andalusians have a fine, long and wide head. The shoulder height is between 1.55 and 1.74 metres. The most common colour is grey, but chestnut, brown and black also occur. The cream gene also occurs, which creates palominoes, for example.
They are temperamental horses, but are very brave and docile. They also have a lot of confidence in their rider.
