The Clydesdale originated near the Clyde River in Scotland in the 18th century. The breed gained enormous popularity because it was a horse well suited for agricultural work due to its strength and friendly nature.
The Clydesdale is a large horse breed with a shoulder height between 1.63 and 1.90cm. They mainly come in the colour bay, but colours like black and chestnut also occur. Clydesdales are best known for their high white socks and almost always present blaze.
The Clydesdale is a calm horse breed with a friendly and eager-to-work temperament.
