Loan system

The loan system is intended to allow you to lend horses to other players or loan horses from other players, without the risk that the owner may not get the horse back or does not pick it up. The loan system can be found when you expand the menu on the left, under ‘Loan Horse’. Here you can see all your loan sessions. Pressing ‘new proposal’ will take you to the loan options.

When can you lend out a horse?

You can lend out horses from the moment your horse is 1 year old, completely healthy and in its stable. Horses age at the player where they are stabled.

Make good agreements

It is important to make clear agreements about loaning your horse via DMs or the forum. For instance, think about what the loaner is allowed to do with your horse, how much you pay or allow the loaner to pay, how long a training session lasts and how far the horse will be trained. Keep these agreements, so you can prove that you really made those if problems arise.

How do horses age when on loan?

When horses are loaned, they age every day the loaners logs in. Exception: When loaning a breeding pasture and you do the foal exercises yourself, the stallion, mare and foal age with you.

Rights

The loaner can always perform these actions with the loaned horse:
  • Brushing
  • Watering
  • Feeding
  • Vaccinating and treating at the vet
  • Taking the horse to the farrier
  • Stable them in paddock and stable

Different loan system options

The loan system has 3 options:

  • Loan breeding pasture
    This system allows you to loan a pasture from another player.

  • Lend a training horse
    This system allows you to lend your horse to another player for training.

  • Other
    Through this system, you can loan your horse for different purposes, for example: fitness training, schooling, training or breeding.

The various loan options are discussed in more detail below.

Pasture loan

The ‘Pasture loan’ system allows you to loan a pasture from another player.

Pasture system advantage

The advantage of using this system versus the ‘other’ system is that the pasture owner only receives the agreed coins once the right mare and stallion have been put in the pasture correctly. As a result, you do not run the risk of being ripped off.

What needs to be filled in

  • Mare:
    Here you select the mare to be put in the pasture.

  • I pay:
    Here you enter how many coins the pasture owner gets from you.

  • Pasture owner:
    Here you enter the username of the pasture owner.

  • Date put in pasture:
    Here you enter the date when the horses should be put in the pasture.

  • Stallion:
    Here you enter the ID of the stallion you want to use. You can find the ID in the horse's passport on the horse profile.

  • Foal exercises:
    Here you make the choice whether the pasture owner does the foal exercises or you do them yourself.

Conditions

  • You can only use the pasture system with your own mare, not with a mare on loan.
  • The stallion you want to use must be availlable via the ‘Other’ system for the pasture owner.
  • If you use another player's stallion, that player has to set the stallion via the ‘Other’ system for the pasture owner to loan.
  • The system does not check if the pasture owner has a free pasture, so check carefully if the pasture owner has a free pasture.
  • The system does not check if the mare is suitable for breeding. Therefore, check this carefully.

Lending out your training horse

This system allows you to lend your horse to be trained by another player without the risk of agreements not being met.

Advantage of the training system

Coins only reach the trainer once the training has been successfully completed.
This system is safer to use than the ‘other’ system because the trainer only gets the coins when the training has been carried out correctly. This way, you don't run the risk of appointments not being met. If the horse achieves the agreed number of stars, the trainer gets the remainder of the training budget as a bonus, because the training was completed successfully.

Looks at whether a profitable number of coins has been set with the trainer system.
In addition, the training system calculates if the trainer budget is not too low with how much it costs to train to the agreed number of stars. This way, the trainer gets enough coins to pay for the trainings.

Horse returns automatically
As soon as the horse is trained to the agreed stars, your horse will automatically return to your stables and the trainer will be paid.

What needs to be filled in?

  • Horse:
    Here you select the horse you want trained.

  • All-inclusive price (Trainer's budget):
    This is the amount the trainer will receive upon completion of the training. The training budget is used to pay for training costs, competition entry fees & trainer's wages. The trainer budget should be at least the amount it costs to train to the chosen number of stars. Read here how much it costs approximately to train a horse to a certain number of stars.

  • Trainer's salary:
    This is an option to give the trainer a certain number of coins for each training performed (0-35 coins).

  • Trainer (loaner):
    Here you enter the username of the player who will train your horse.

  • Final rank dressage stars:
    Here you enter which dressage star you want your horse trained to.

  • Final rank jumper stars:
    Here you enter which jumper you want your horse trained to.

  • Who will supply the items?
    Here you select who will give your horse the items needed for training (tack + grooming set).


Border conditions

  • Schooling a horse and Fitness training is also possible via the train system, but this is not considered training and you cannot set a price for it.
  • The training system checks whether your horse is trained at a fair price. So you will be notified if you enter a too low trainer budget versus how much it costs to train the horse to the entered number of stars. Read here how much it costs approximately to train a horse to a certain number of stars.
  • Because the training system automatically calculates the minimum amount you need to pay for the training to be profitable, it is not possible to train your horse for free or at a low/friendly price. Should you wish to do so, you can use the ‘Other’ system.
  • If the training stops early, the remaining training budget will be returned to the lender.

loaning - Other

This loan system is for other loan situations. This loan system is mainly used to do the following:

  • loaning out studs
  • Having the horse trained for lower amounts of coins
  • Fitness training for coins
  • Schooling a horse for coins
  • loaning a breeding pasture with a loan mare

What needs to be filled in

  • Horse:
    Here you select the horse you want to lend.

  • Price:
    The price entered is the amount you pay to the loaner. Exceptions are:
    • Covering: the loaner pays you the price for the use of the stallion
    • Breeding: if the loaner becomes the owner of the foal, the loaner pays you the price for the use of the broodmare.

  • loaner:
    This is where you put the username of the player who will loan the horse.

  • Agreements:
    Here you put the agreements you have made with the player. Examples here could be: ‘Mare x must be in the pasture with stallion x on 12.01’ or ‘Train to 4-4 for 7,000 coins’.

  • Loaners' rights:
    Here you tick which actions the loaner can perform with your horse. Below you can read what the rights mean.

Training rights

If you have a horse trained, you can give the following rights to the loaner:

  • (Fitness) training/ Schooling / Competitions
    Allows the loaner to train, school and compete the horse.

  • Change tack
    Allows the loaner to change the horse's harness, which is useful if the tack wears out and the horse needs a new cover to complete its training, for example. In addition, this option is often used to swap tack.*

  • Give/take away barn buddy
    Allows the loaner to give or take away a barn buddy. This option is often used to send a barn buddy to another player.*

  • Give/take away brushes and grooming box
    Allows the loaner to take away or give brushes and grooming boxes. This is useful to do when a brush wears out and the horse needs a new brush, for example, to complete training sessions. This option is also used to send brushes to another player.*
*(Example: someone buys a barn buddy/tack/brush set from you. You lend your horse with this option on. The loaner can now take the horse's barn buddy/tack/brush set off. Then the loaner returns the horse. In this way, the barn buddy/tack/brush set enters the other person's inventory).

Rights only for stallions

If you lend a stallion, you can give the following rights extra:

  • 1x breeding
    Allows the loaner to put the stallion in a pasture with a mare.

Rights only for mares

If you lend a mare, you can give one of the following rights extra:

  • 1x breeding, loaner becomes the owner and loaner does foal exercises with the foal (maxing).
    This allows the loaner to put the mare in a pasture with a stallion. The loaner then becomes the owner of the foal and has to do the foal exercises . For other options for breeding, use the pasture system.

Conditions

  • The price entered is the amount you pay to the loaner. Exceptions are:
    • Breeding: the loaner pays you the price for using the stallion
    • Breeding: if the loaner becomes the owner of the foal, the loaner pays you the price for the use of the broodmare.
  • When lending a mare to breed, only the loaner can become the owner of the horse and max the foal exercises. If you want to become an owner yourself, you need to use the pasture loan system.
