Source attribution
Source attribution, as the name suggests, is referencing your sources. For example, a source could be the photographer you got your photos from for an edit. Or an artist you got a lot of inspiration from for a drawing.
Basic rule
Every blend/edit/drawing sold on creative sales should have a source attribution on it.
Exception: In the case of images that are 250*250px or smaller, the source may also be mentioned as text directly below the image.
Digital Arts
Digital art/digital drawings are drawings that are digitally drawn. Digital arts (DAs) are (mostly) self-created. Below, we explain which source should appear on the image.
- Completely self-created DA = Your own name
- DA made using reference = Your own name + the source of the reference (only an image for which you have permission)
Line arts and greyscales
A line art is a kind of ‘colour plate’. So, it is just the lines of a DA, without being coloured in. A greyscale is similar to a line art, but already has a coloured-in area or already shadows. So, it only needs to be coloured in. On My Horsez, it often happens that linearts/greyscales are used that are made by others. This is allowed as long as the source is properly stated.
With line arts and greyscales, the following applies in short:
- Entirely self-made line art/greyscale = Your own name.
- Line art/greyscale traced using a reference = Your own name + the source of the reference (only an image for which you have permission).
Blends/Photo editing
For blends/photo edits, only stock photos may be used (unless the player has permission from the photographer to use the photos). A blend/photo edit offered for sale must always include a source.
Stock photos
By stock photos we mean: photos where the creator of the photos has given permission to use and edit the photos (for free or for a fee). When using stock/references, it is important to check if you are allowed to use it on My Horsez. You can often see this in the description.
What may absolutely not be used?
Photos that you find on Google without having checked whether you are allowed to use them. These photos can hardly ever be used freely.
