Source attribution

Source attribution means giving proper credit to the original creators of content you've used or been inspired by. This could be the photographer of a photo used in an edit, or an artist whose work influenced your drawing.

Basic rule

Every blend, edit, or drawing offered in Creative Sales must include source attribution.

Exception: If your image is 250×250 pixels or smaller, the source may be listed as plain text directly below the image.

Digital Arts

Digital art/digital drawings/DA refers to artwork that is created digitally. Most digital drawings on My Horsez are self-made. The source attribution requirements vary depending on how the artwork was created:

Completely self-created

➤ Credit yourself as the source.

Created with the use of a reference image

➤ Credit yourself and the original source of the reference (only if you have permission to use that reference).

Line arts and greyscales

Lineart is a digital outline or "coloring page" version of an artwork. Greyscale is similar but includes shading and/or partially colored areas that just need to be filled in. On My Horsez, it’s common to use linearts or greyscales made by others - this is allowed as long as proper credit is given. With line arts and greyscales, the following applies in short:

Fully self-made lineart/greyscale:

➤ Credit yourself as the source.

Lineart/greyscale traced from a reference:

➤ Credit yourself and the reference image source (only if you have permission to use that reference).

Blends/Photo editing

For blends/photo edits, only stock photos may be used - unless you have direct permission from the photographer to use their images. Every edit listed for sale must include a source.

Stock photos

By stock photos we mean: images where the creator has explicitly allowed their use and editing - either for free or with payment.

Always verify that the license allows use on My Horsez. This information is typically found in the photo’s description.

What may absolutely not be used?

Photos randomly found on Google or elsewhere online should never be used without checking their license. These images are almost always protected by copyright and are not free to use or edit.
