Meet the moderator team
Ever wondered who’s working behind the scenes to bring My Horsez - our favourite online horse game - to life? Today we get to meet some of the people behind the moderator team of the game! Who are they? What do they do? Read on to find out!

Tikka
Hi, my name is Juna, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Belgium.
I just stopped studying (biomedical sciences and nutrition & dietetics) and I’m still figuring out what I’d like to do in life. I have cat named Mavis an English cocker spaniel dog, named Tikka which is why my username is Tikka. I also technically have a horse and pony who live with my grandparents. Although I don’t really ride horses anymore, I’ll always be a ‘horse girl’ and they definitely have a special place in my heart! In my free time I enjoy various creative hobbies such as drawing (mainly digital art), crocheting, singing and cross-stitching.

I’ve been playing My Horsez on the Dutch server since October 2013, so more than 11 years. I really enjoy this game because of the active forum and I’ve actually made some real life friends because of it. That’s also why I decided to become a moderator. Since I enjoy the forum so much, it felt natural to help make it a positive and safe space for everyone. I’ve only been a moderator since September, but I’m really enjoying it so far. The team is incredibly kind and supportive, and I’m excited to continue being part of it!



Halifax
I’m Halifax, 23 years old and I live in Groningen, the Netherlands. In my daily life, I work part-time in various departments of a supermarket. I recently earned my Law degree and plan to start my master's in this field the next school year. I have three French Trotters (Standardbreds) and a dog, with whom I spend a lot of time. My horses live outdoors 24/7 in a large wooded area, as naturally as possible. They have constant access to forage and are ridden bitless and kept barefoot. I always say my hobby is keeping horses, not riding them. As for me, their happiness is always number 1. 😄 I have recently started my education towards barefoot trimming and horse coaching.

I started playing MH in 2013 on the Dutch server. My main focus was breeding flaxen in a select number of breeds. I was a moderator for a while back then but stepped down due to personal reasons. When the international server was announced, I saw it as a new challenge and decided to apply for the moderator role again! It’s also a great way to practice my professional English, haha.

Being a moderator comes with responsibility. Sometimes, I can come across as strict or harsh. In my home town, people are very direct, which might seem rude to those not used to it, haha. Nonetheless, I find it incredibly rewarding to help people and solve problems. I enjoy using my knowledge to assist others, and I definitely see this as something I could pursue in a future career.



Mysa
Hi, I'm Mysa! A girl who'll be turning 23 this spring. I grew up in The Netherlands with my family, but emigrated to Sweden a couple years ago to move in with my boyfriend. I'm currently studying Swedish and enjoying exploring the country. Moving has showed me my love for nature and hiking, but I also enjoy baking and reading a good book. But my best moments have been catching the northern lights with my partner.

I've been playing My Horsez since 2015 and have been a moderator for about 4 years. I enjoy contributing my bit in keeping the forum clean, answering questions and helping out players so that everyone can enjoy the game. A game I deeply enjoy playing myself, because of its uniqueness.



Demure
Hey! I'm Demure, though I go through life as Amber. I'm Dutch, 21 years young and am currently studying a master in classical piano at a conservatory. As you can tell, I'm a big fan of music. I visit pop concerts regularly and enjoy listening to artists like Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Only The Poets, Ashe, and so much more. Besides music, I've been infected with the horse virus for as long as I can remember. My mother passed the love for these animals onto me. After riding at riding schools and being a groom for some ponies, I'm now lucky enough to own my pretty, stubborn and cuddly 5-year-old Irish Sport horse mare Andante (a music term, haha!). I'll show a picture of her and me!

On the Dutch server of MH, my account just reached its 10-year anniversary this October. It all started with a 11-year-old girl googling 'horse games online' and thinking "wow, this looks fun". I was having a hard time at school not fitting in, and I remember that it helped me to rely on MH for some relaxation. Throughout the years, I've made a couple of longlasting friendships that even continued in real life, which I am eternally grateful for.
Besides playing the game and breeding a diversity of horse breeds, I've been part of the team as a Discord moderator since October 2022. I then started as an in-game moderator in August this year. As soon as the international server went live, I switched to this one! You'll find me moderating on the forum and answering forum-related tickets. I'm looking forward to seeing the community develop in one that I'm sure will be just as wholesome and connected as on the Dutch server!

Valkyrie
Hi everyone!

I'm Valkyrie, one of the head moderators on MyHorsez, alongside -Kipepeo! I started as a game moderator about 2 years ago, then moved on to become a forum moderator and mediator, and now we're here!

Aside from MyHorsez, I'm a registered nurse in a hospital, mother to a daughter, owner of 2 British Shorthairs, and married.

I've been a horse lover since day one and had 2 amazing Friesians, but they had to say goodbye too soon. Now I'm riding a Fjord x Tinker cross. When I'm not busy, you can find me gaming, reading, or putting on little concerts for my cats (they're my biggest fans!). Hit me up if you have any questions or just want to say hi!



Amarula
Hi my name is Nikki! I'm a 30 year old Dutchy, but very much in love with South Africa, so I hope to move there some day. I'm living together with my husband, our 3 cats and 2 guinea pigs. I als own a very lovely horse, Montana.
I've recently started my own business, I'm teaching horse riding and ground work, I'm coaching people and I'm training horses.

I've been playing the Dutch version of My Horsez since 2009, I started playing it as a kid. I used to be a very active player back then. I kind of forgot about the game when I went abroad for an internship (South Africa) in 2015 and started playing again in around 2020. 1 used to be moderator on the Dutch server for a couple of years, which I really liked! So when I could apply for being a mod on the international server, I did and I still like this job very much! I like helping people and guiding them. I also really enjoy being part of the team, all the people are very nice and we all love to work together and help each other out. It's a great vibe to be around!

Future team members
As you may have read in the blog, our team currently consists of Dutch moderators. This is because they were already active on and could learn to moderate on the Dutch server of My Horsez. However, we’re excited to expand our team internationally for the international server!

That’s why we’re now welcoming open applications for the role of moderator. If you’re passionate about the game and would love to be part of our team, we’d love to hear from you!
